Temple Run

Temple Run is a game for the iPhone, iPad, or Android systems that has become a recent phenomenon. The game which takes place in an old temple is one of the more addicting iPhone apps out there. It is a very simplistic game but can consume hours of a players time once they are hooked. The player starts out by running out of the base of a temple being chased by what you find out are crows. The player must run away from these crows without being stopped by the obstacles that await him.

Temple Run is a game where the player plays as guy dangerous and the objective is to run away from these crows that are chasing you while not falling off the sides of the temple or running into trees. While it sounds simple enough there are many obstacles that they player will face along the road to achieving their high score. The goal of this game is to collect as many coins as possible while running along a course that is similar to the Great Wall of China.

During the game there are five different power ups that you can get to help you achieve more points and reach a higher score. The first power up is the Mega Coin power up. This allows the player to achieve an instant boost of coins when this power up is achieved. It can appear more than once a game which will allow the player to continue to boost their points. The second type of power up you can achieve is the coin magnet. The coin magnet allows player to attract coins to the runner while running throughout the course. While a player is using the coin magnet power up the player attracts all of the coins that are on the course. The next two power ups go hand in hand, since one makes the player invisible and the other one causes the player to have a 1000 meter boost while being invisible. The final power up allows the player to increase point value of the coins after a certain distance run.

Other than simple power ups player are also allowed to purchase perks that allow them to regenerate after death and that allow them to get a boost at the beginning of the map. Overall, Temple Run is a game that used to cost $0.99 but is now a free app. Since this occurred the game became one of the top downloaded games on all of iTunes. The game now relies on people purchasing more coins from the store to generate money instead of having to pay for the app.
